Welcome to the ADHD Annual Review Service
Hi. We’re Vertis Health.
You’ve been referred to us because you’re eligible for a review on the NHS for your ADHD medication and treatment. By having your medication review with this service, which has been commissioned by NHS Herefordshire & Worcestershire, you’ll be able to have your medication issued on an ongoing basis by your GP as part of a Shared Care Agreement.
We’re Worcestershire’s local GP federation - which means we run NHS services on behalf of GPs and other providers in the local area, including this one. Here, you’ll find all the information you need - including what to expect as part of your annual review, and what you’ll need to do to ensure the process runs smoothly.
Have you had medication before?
If you’ve been referred into our Reviews service - perhaps because you’ve had an assessment from an alternative provider but have come to us for your medication - and you’re not using any medication yet, you may have been referred into the wrong service. Our Review service is designed to review medication that patients have been using to ensure they’re on the correct medication for their care - if you have not previously had any medications prescribed, you will need to be referred into our Assessment service first.
Please return to your GP and request a referral into our Assessment service.
Your pre-assessment questionnaires.
If you’ve just received a message telling you that you’ve been referred into the service - great! Welcome aboard.
You’ll receive a text message asking you to let us know when your last review was - whether it was more or less than 12 months ago. You’ll also be asked whether your current treatment is provided privately or through the NHS.
If you’re unable to receive text messages, please contact our dedicated ADHD line on 01905 671753 and a member of our team will be able to help.
What happens after I submit my questionnaire?
Once you submit your questionnaire, it will be reviewed by a member of our team.
You’ll then be invited for a telephone appointment with one of our specialist clinicians. This will usually take around twenty to thirty minutes, and will involve a conversation to make sure you’re doing well, and to confirm whether you need any changes to your treatment.
If they need to conduct any further tests (such as an ECG), they may invite you for a checkup at our office in Redditch to make sure everything’s okay.
Most people don’t need to change medications - but if you do, they’ll discuss this with you and, if appropriate, put in place a plan for you to do so.
This might involve follow-up appointments to monitor you as you move onto your new medication and ensure you're doing well before we move you back into shared care with your GP.
You'll then be booked in for a follow up appointment with us in 12 months time.
Pulse and blood pressure testing.
You’ll need to provide us with pulse and blood pressure readings prior to your appointment. You can do this in one of two ways:
Visit a local pharmacy: Most NHS pharmacies will test your blood pressure and pulse for free. You can check whether your local pharmacy offers this service - or find one that does - by clicking here.
Self-test at home: If you have a blood pressure testing machine at home, you can use this. Please test three times, and send us your average reading.
You should also be prepared to be asked for your resting pulse, height and weight at your appointment. You can find out how to test your resting pulse by visiting the link here.
Reminders and Cancellations
You will receive text reminders 3 days and 24 hours before your appointment. Please check these carefully and cancel or reschedule if you cannot attend.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call 01905 671753, or click the link in your appointment reminder text.
Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed appointments may lead to delays in your treatment.
If you cancel or reschedule in time, we’ll offer you one rebooked appointment.
If you miss your appointment without notice, we will:
Notify your GP
Record it as a “Did Not Attend” (DNA)
You may not be rebooked unless your GP refers you again
Missed appointments reduce availability for others and delay care. Your ADHD review is a vital part of keeping your treatment safe and effective.
